About
Originally drawn to design, my degree in interface design has given me not only technical expertise but also an eye for good typography and layout. This enables me to implement a given design not only based on pixel values, but also to understand the visual concept and, as a result, find solutions that aren’t directly defined in the design. Furthermore, this allows me to play an important mediating role between design and technology, as I understand the expectations and requirements of both sides and can take them into account.
As a front-end developer, however, I am also constantly inspired by the web as a technical platform and its potential to enable increasingly dynamic user interfaces and applications. It’s no longer just about static pages with images and text, but rather a software platform that enables cross-platform applications that can be distributed without app stores or similar services. The development of complex applications based on modern web standards and APIs, with a focus on performance and user experience, is the core of my work. I am equally comfortable working in all three web languages — HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — and know how to use this synergy to build engaging user interfaces and experiences that also take into account aspects such as accessibility. The code should be robust, readable, and understandable, avoid unnecessary repetition (DRY), and be reusable instead.
